Our story, mission, and values that drive meaningful impact.

A Journey Towards Purpose-Driven Evaluation

I’m Njara Tahiana Rakotoarimanga, founder of AKO. For more than 15 years, I have worked at the forefront of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL), leading large-scale programs across Africa and Asia with international NGOs, and donor-funded initiatives.

My career has spanned diverse contexts — from food security and rural livelihoods in Madagascar to climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, WASH, resettlement, and cash transfers in the Philippines. Across these domains, I have positioned monitoring and evaluation not only as a tool for accountability, but as a driver of proposal development, strategy design, action planning, and evidence-based reporting that shapes decisions and maximizes impact.

In 2025, I established AKO in France to bring this global expertise closer to European partners, while staying deeply connected to the realities of the Global South. My vision is simple: to make evaluation purpose-driven and decision-ready, so organizations can measure what truly matters and act on it.
